Gainful Employment

Through Requests for Proposal (RFP) submissions, Immigreat Lancaster, Inc. facilitates the use of local, culturally-sensitive master’s level psychology clinicians to conduct a 60-minute interview with each employee with refugee status at a company in order to ascertain the level and nature of training prior to immigration. In many cases, the interview is done in contractual partnership with Lancaster-based and immigrant-owned translation companies through the RFP process. Each time a new employee with refugee, asylee, or immigrant status is hired, a skills assessment interview will be conducted.

Immigreat Lancaster, Inc. contracts with the culturally-sensitive master’s level psychology clinicians who compile collected data and present findings to respective managers and Human Resource leaders at the company.

Cultural and Occupational

Integration

Immigreat Lancaster, Inc. develops and manages a collaborative effort between various community stakeholders/providers to create a comprehensive support system for employees with refugee status. This collaboration involves: Landlords, CareerLink (training/employment related certifications, such as CDL’s), Church World Service, Inc., Public Transit, Mental Health Agencies; Lending Institutions, etc.

Immigreat Lancaster, Inc. contracts with local companies for a 6-month pilot study in which we hire local, culturally-sensitive master’s level psychology clinicians to carry out assessment and care plans to take the lead on a collaboration with company designees and local community providers toward development of a systematic care plan for employees with refugee status. The systematic care plan is completed one month after the agreement is signed (e.g. If we sign May 1, the care plan will be presented on June 1 and subsequently conduct the pilot study through November 1). The contracted local, culturally-sensitive master’s level psychology clinicians present the systematic care plan to each employee (30 minutes), tailor it to their unique needs, and follow-up every two months to assess needs/progress (15 minutes). The contracted clinician keeps records of encounters with the employee, however as noted previously, these are not part of the Human Resource record at the company.
